Job Overview
We are seeking a technically proficient and strategically minded Senior Project Manager to join our Product PMO team. This role will lead high-impact software and engineering initiatives, including cloud-based programs, AI-driven solutions, and cross-functional transformation efforts. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management capabilities, technical fluency, and stakeholder influence to drive execution and elevate our delivery model.
This position is critical to supporting the transformation of our Engineering organization. The successful candidate will help define technical programs, communicate business value, and ensure alignment across global teams, including collaboration with leaders in manufacturing, customer solutions, and product strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead complex software and engineering projects, including initiatives involving cloud platforms, AI, and experimental technologies.
- Manage traditional software development projects using Agile methodologies and Epicor’s release lifecycle frameworks.
- Drive execution with a focus on strategic outcomes, speed, and stakeholder alignment.
Technical Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering leadership to define technical programs and translate architecture into actionable plans.
- Interpret and engage with technology architecture diagrams to facilitate informed discussions and challenge assumptions.
- Understand CI/CD environments and automated testing strategies to support engineering teams and reduce onboarding friction.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Influence and align cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Support, Professional Services, and Sales.
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across regions, ensuring clarity, context, and strategic framing.
- Demonstrate awareness of customer impact in time-sensitive or compliance-driven initiatives and manage urgency and change communication appropriately.
Process & Value Optimization
- Champion continuous improvement within the PMO, including dashboarding and data-driven decision-making.
- Lead process transformation initiatives, including automation and AI-driven enhancements.
- Propose and drive changes that improve efficiency, transparency, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Tool Utilization
- Ensure project documentation and updates are maintained in JIRA and other tools (e.g., Aha!, Teams, Power BI, SharePoint).
- Use project management tools to track progress, manage risks, and communicate effectively.
Operational & Vendor Support
- Contribute to PMO maturity through documentation, best practices, and support of operational processes.
- Engage with third-party vendors and support procurement activities to expand engineering capacity and meet delivery goals and expand engineering capacity.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in project management within software development or technology environments.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cloud platforms (Azure preferred, but not required).
- Basic understanding of software development processes and architecture, with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams.
- Exposure to CI/CD environments and automated testing strategies, with a willingness to learn and support engineering teams in these areas.
- Experience using project management tools such as JIRA, Aha!, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and time zones.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects with multiple dependencies and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and make data-informed decisions.
- PMP certification preferred, or equivalent experience managing technical projects.
- Experience in manufacturing or regulated environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with third-party vendor engagement and procurement processes is beneficial.
