About the Role:

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Hybrid Cloud offering. This enables customers with strict governance requirements to deploy SaaS provisioned Epicor Applications on customer managed infrastructure, either on-premises or cloud-based while preserving a single SaaS-based deployment and lifecycle model.

As a SDET, you will own the quality strategy for Hybrid Cloud tooling, balancing strong manual test design with automation-first thinking. The focus of this role is on validating deployment tooling, configuration workflows, manual test design, hybrid cloud validation scenarios, automation of infrastructure and tooling workflows, and the ability to work closely with platform, DevOps, and engineering teams ensuring operational readiness for customer adoption.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work as part of cross functional, passionate agile project teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery.

  • Own the quality strategy and execution for Hybrid Cloud tooling that enables SaaS provisioned Epicor Application deployments on customer managed infrastructure.

  • Design and maintain comprehensive manual test plans covering deployment, configuration, prerequisites, upgrades, rollback, and failure scenarios.

  • Build and evolve automation for deployment and tooling workflows, focusing on high value, repeatable customer consumption paths.

  • Validate Hybrid Cloud deployments across AKS based Linux container environments running on customer controlled physical or cloud infrastructure.

  • Drive risk-based testing to ensure release readiness with minimal impact to core product functionality.

  • Validate operational readiness, including logging, diagnostics, observability, and supportability of tooling.

  • Collaborate closely with Platform Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to influence design decisions early from a quality and testability perspective.

  • Mentor junior QA and SDET engineers, setting standards for test design, automation quality, and execution discipline.

  • Act as a quality advocate for Hybrid Cloud initiatives, ensuring a predictable and reliable customer experience.

What You Need to Succeed:

· 3-5 years of relevant experience in maintaining product quality through manual and automation testing, building/designing automation framework & testing tools, DevOps knowledge with good product exposure

· Extensive knowledge on testing concepts, test process, test design skills and testing techniques.

· Analyzes requirements and clarify scope and breadth of work tasks with business analysts and product managers.

· Learns and employs knowledge of the business segment targeted by the software application.

· Work closely with the Product Owner to flesh out Acceptance Criteria and develop tests around them.

· Strong experience as a SDET or QA Developer owning quality for complex, platform-oriented systems.

· Proven expertise in manual test design and execution, especially for infrastructure, tooling, or deployment centric initiatives.

· Hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation using JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java.

· Solid understanding of Windows/Linux containers and Kubernetes concepts, with exposure to managed Kubernetes platforms (AKS preferred).

· Experience validating deployment tooling, installers, or platform utilities, not just application-level features.

· Ability to design scenario driven, customer-centric test coverage reflecting real world deployment and operational use cases.

· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build and release workflows.

· Strong analytical skills to diagnose failures using logs, configurations, and environment data.

· Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence quality outcomes across teams.

Additional Skills That Could Set You Apart:

· Strong technical and logical skills are required.

· Strong in Troubleshooting, deployment and debugging with good programming skills

· Experience with hybrid cloud or customer-managed deployment models.

· Exposure to infrastructure as code, deployment scripts, or platform automation tooling.

· Knowledge of observability stacks, monitoring, and operational diagnostics.

· Experience supporting or testing SaaS platforms transitioning away from traditional on-prem deployments.

· Prior involvement in release readiness, go-live validation, or customer adoption programs.

· Ability to think beyond testing and contribute to tooling usability, reliability, and customer experience improvements.

· Demonstrated leadership in driving quality culture and engineering excellence within QA or platform teams.
